When making the decision to take a vacation in the Caribbean consider the Cayman Islands. Grand Cayman Island is the largest of the string of three islands. There is also Little Cayman and Cayman Brac near by. Each island has familiar traits along with offering its own unique charm. It is an excellent vacation destination for families, couples, and people who enjoy water sports. Grand Cayman Island has much to offer. The island has many luxury resorts along with world-class restaurants to choose from. The capital is Georgetown and is home to the Cayman’s Natural Museum and Natural Gallery.
The city’s downtown has some of the best shopping in all of the Caribbean. You will be able to find everything from the latest European fashions, to antiques. A fun spot to visit on the island is the Cayman Turtle farm. It is home for over 16,000 endangered green sea turtles. Grand Cayman Island is perfect for those who just got married, to a whole family trying to escape winterIf you enjoy nature, taking a 45 minute trip to Cayman Brac is all it takes to discovering the beautiful nature it holds. The island has many walking and hiking trails which is perfect for spotting the over 200 species of birds that live there. Since the water is very clear around the islands, diving is a must when vacationing. Off of Cayman Brac is the site of the only Russian warship in the Western Hemisphere which can only be accessed by diving. Five miles away lay Little Cayman Island. This island is ideal for the perfect escape. Less than 150 people call the island home. It boasts having some of the best diving in the world. There are over 50 different diving sites available including shipwrecks and walls. It also has many beautiful fish and coral to discover. This can be fun for not just the professional diver, but also for the whole family. Whether you want to walk barefoot in the warm white sandy beaches, or snorkel and meet new marine life, there is something for everyone in the Cayman Islands. |
