When planning for an Alaska vacation there are some important things you need to know about traveling.  There are certain things that you should pack and take with you on your trip in case you should need them along the way, such as your personal ID, medications, trip documents and emergency phone numbers.  Other things you should take with you are binoculars, maps, guidebooks, alarm clock, camera with carrying case, luggage comfortable shoes and the right type of clothing for the weather.  There are other things that you may want to take with you that will help you to enjoy your trip and give you a piece of mind while you are on your Alaska vacation.

Your luggage is important because it will hold all of your belongings and any new items that you pick up on your trip.  So make sure it is locked well and that you have it marked with your identification information.  You can keep documents and medicine on you at all times by carrying hand luggage with you.  When choosing clothing for your trip find out what the weather will be like before you go.  Take clothing items that you can layer for times when there is unexpected weather issues.  Wear comfortable light weight shoes that will feel good to walk around in for long periods of time.  Some small items that might come in handy are an umbrella, scarf, hat, gloves and any water repellant items.

If you have any health problems carrying medical records with you may help out in case of an emergency.  Check with your doctor before planning a trip and make sure it is safe for you to go on a trip.  Make sure that you safe guard your items while you are on your Alaska vacation.  If you are traveling with expensive items then getting travel insurance may be a good idea.  If you are disabled and are in a wheelchair then you will need to call ahead and inform the people where you are going, so they can make accommodations for you if needed.  This is just some travel advice that may help you out when planning for an Alaska vacation.
