Bose Wireless Headphones Print E-mail
Monday, 09 July 2007

For more than 40 years, the Bose Corporation has been a leader in developing high quality audio equipment. Founded by Dr. Amar G. Bose in 1964, Bose has provided consumers with impressive stereo speakers, automotive systems, home theatre systems and more.

Currently, Bose offers three types of headphones: on-ear, around-ear, and in-ear.

Bose on-ear headphones weigh less than five ounces, making them exceptionally comfortable and easy on the ears. The ear cups utilize soft padded memory foam, which conforms to the shape of your ears. This is a nice feature if you don't want to share your headphones!

Bose on-ear headphones are not wireless. Instead they include two detachable audio cables. One is 16-inches and intended for use with shirt-pocket or armband connections. The other is 43-inches and intended for use at home or office. Although these headphones do require the use of a cable, both the short and long cable attach to just one ear cup, as opposed to the conventional Y-cables. Bose on-ear headphones retail for around $180.

Bose around-ear headphones offer advanced ergonomics and a lightweight design. Weighing less than five ounces, these headphones provide hours of comfort without weighing you down. Bose around-ear headphones utilize a proprietary technology known as acoustic equalization, which helps to deliver rich nuances oftentimes lost in regular headphones.

Bose around-ear headphones are not wireless. Instead a 43-inch cable is attached to audio equipment such as a stereo or home theatre system. As with the on-ear headphones, this cable attaches to one ear cup and helps eliminate the possibility of becoming tangled in the cord. Bose around-ear headphones retail for around $140.

Bose in-ear headphones were developed for use with audio devices such as MP3, CD and DVD players. The ear cups include soft silicone tips that rest just outside the ear canal. Bose includes small, medium, and large tips, allowing users to adjust the size for a more accurate fit. These tips are washable and color coded.

Bose in-ear headphones are not wireless. They include a 16-inch cord for use with shirt-pocket and armband connections. These headphones are stored in a sleek carrying case and are easy to take with you. This set of Bose headphones retails for about $100.

Currently, Bose does not offer wireless headphones. However, the sound quality and rich undertones make them strong competitors in the marketplace. Although wireless headphones are more convenient, Bose headphones offer a rich quality sound that is hard to beat. If you care more about sound quality than convenience, the Bose brand might be the perfect solution for your listening needs.
