Basic Car Audio Systems Print E-mail
Saturday, 02 June 2007
When shopping for a car audio system, some people want all the bells and whistles while others are interested in basic car audio systems. Most older, model cars were designed with am/fm radios and cassette decks. However, nowadays the trend is either CD’s or MP3’s. Changing a car audio system doesn’t require replacing everything, for example it is fine to change the cassette deck with a CD player without changing the speakers. If this is the route taken, perhaps it’s a good idea to buy a CD player that is pre-amped to power the original speakers.

Many car audio systems are decked out with lights, animations and even screen savers. Basic car audio systems do not require these fancy gadgets but they should at least have a LCD display so the listener can see what track is playing. It’s also important to have an equalizer that is capable of adjusting the bass, middle and treble levels. Not all CD players are equipped to handle MP3’s. If planning to use MP3’s, a basic car audio system should include a CD deck that is equipped to read MP3’s.

Buying a basic car audio system totally depends on the customer, what they want and what they need their system to do. If buying speakers for a basic audio system, it’s a wise idea to buy a set that has tweeters for the front and multi-element for the back. Buying speakers with these features already built in can save a whole lot of money.

Basic car audio systems can be bought at many major department stores and most times at large automotive stores. If going to a store to shop for a basic car audio system, it’s essential to inform the salesperson exactly what you are looking for, otherwise you may end up with an expensive system with features you don’t need or may never use. Online shopping is a great way to choose a basic car audio system because the website will have pictures and detailed information that you can carefully read and review before actually ordering anything.
