Audio and Video Surveillance System Print E-mail
Thursday, 16 August 2007
An audio and video surveillance system is a better choice for many people as opposed to just a video surveillance system.  By adding in the ability to record audio, not only can you observe what is happening but you can listen to what is being said as well.  This has many benefits over standard video recordings because you can see and hear everything just like you were in the room.  Many businesses are using an audio and video surveillance system so in the case of a robbery or even a claim by an employee, it is very easy to review that specific date and time and watch and listen to what happened for yourself.

Many business such as banks and convenience stores always have the threat of robbery and theft.  It greatly helps law enforcement and insurance agents if that business is equipped with an audio and video surveillance system.  When law enforcement reviews the audio and video recordings, not only can they get an accurate description of a suspect, but they can also hear what their voice sounds like.  This helps speed up the arrests and helps witnesses accurately identify the suspects physically and by voice.

Businesses lose a great deal of money every year by false insurance claims by employees.  By having an audio and video surveillance system, a business can watch and listen to everything that employee did that day to make sure it was a legitimate accident and not something that was planned ahead of time.  As dishonest as this sounds, it happens quite frequently.  If the business has the ability to listen to what that employee was talking about prior to an accident, they can determine the validity of the case.

Audio and video surveillance systems are commonly used in conjunction with intercom systems in hotels and apartment buildings.  If someone wants to come to your room, you can see who they are and speak with them before you decide to let them come into the building.  This helps prevent crime and keep solicitors at bay.
