What is a Water Trampoline Print E-mail
Tuesday, 12 June 2007
You’ve probably never heard of a water trampoline but they are out there. Where would you put a water trampoline? The obvious answer to this is, in the water. A water trampoline could be set up at the lake where a cabin is located, in a river or pond located near town. A water trampoline can be set up anywhere there’s a large body of water, large enough to use the equipment comfortably of course. How is a water trampoline designed? A water trampoline is basically designed to float on the water.

The trampoline mat is attached to a very large round rubber donut shaped object. This object is partly filled with air so it can float around on top of the water and support a trampoline mat and those who use it. The structure is anchored to the bottom of the body of water to prevent it from floating away. Water trampolines are usually constructed from PVC plastic, not metal. This is a great safety feature, preventing children from injuring themselves on metal protruding from the base. A water trampoline can be anywhere from ten feet in diameter to twenty-five feet in diameter. Of course they also range in price from about $500 US to $4000 US.

A water trampoline is a great idea for a town that’s looking to provided fun and physical activity for its residents. Putting a water trampoline in a central river, pond or lake would definitely be a big hit among the children in town. If it proves to be a success, additions can be made to a water trampoline such as water slides, stairs and diving towers. If the water trampoline is intended to be a community attraction, the more features it has, the more people it will attract. A water trampoline would make an excellent gathering place for all of the town’s children.
