If you are considering buying a canvas tent, there are some things that you really need to consider. Now canvas tents differ form other types of tents, as they are like mini homes that are used for different purposes. Unlike other types of tents, a large canvas tent can weigh up to and well over one-hundred pounds. Not only can certain types of canvas tents weigh more, but they can also be very difficult to set up if you have no experience with canvas tents.
Whenever looking at a canvas tent there are certain things that any person who has experience with canvas tents would recommend. With other types of tents, it really does not matter what type of color you get. However with canvas tents, the color of the tent itself is important. The reason is that with white canvas tents, the light is illuminated better with the tent then by having a darker color. This provides better visibility in and outside of the tent. For people who are looking at large canvas tents, you do want to consider the weight. Unless you want to work on setting up a tent that can be very heavy, then you may want to consider on getting a large canvas tent that has lighter weight. These types of canvas tents are called blend tents. They provide the same type of quality in material that the heavier canvas tents provide, but certain parts of the tent are made with lighter materials. This can reduce the canvas tents weight by around thirty pounds or more. Not only is this lighter to carry, but they can also become easier to set up since you are not dealing with a lot of weight. On a canvas tent, you usually want to find one that has some type of a opening on the back side. It does not matter if it is a window or another door, but it is important that you have some type of opening that you can open. If you only have one opening, then you are subject to having low if any ventilation throughout the tent. This can lead to the tent becoming overheated and making it extremely hot on the inside of the tent. These are a few simple things to consider when looking at canvas tents. By following these simple tips, you should be able to pick out a good canvas tent. |
