So, you have decided that it is time for you to exploit the wonders of this new world of technology that you live in and you want to buy a portable DVD player for your car. You’ve looked at all the angles, you’ve considered the consequences and you’ve done your research and decided that Sony is the brand for you. You are now ready to go out and make that all important purchase. The only catch is that many of the Sony car DVD players you find are out of your budget; way out of your budget. You’re going to have to start working a second job in order to make this plan a reality. What can you do?
Of course, there are a number of different venues you can explore before committing yourself to the poorhouse. You could consider scanning the classified ads in the daily newspaper to see if someone has a Sony car DVD player they want to be rid of, or you could troll Amazon.com to see what is available for purchase. You may choose to scout garage sales and contact wholesalers in the hopes that you will finally be able to declare glory on your own personal quest.Once you have exhausted all of these options, however, what do you do? Do you hang your head and walk away from the bargaining table? Of course not. You’ll never get what you want go about it that way. You turn to your computer, log in and go to that one place where you can rest assured that you will be able to find almost anything under the sun: e-Bay. Chances are that e-Bay is going to have at least one Sony car DVD player available, and since it’s an auction site you stand a good chance of being able to walk away with a great deal. Why is that? Well, in the manner of all good auctions sellers list their products for sale on e-Bay with a very low minimum bid, often less than a dollar. They then hope that they will be able to generate enough interest in their product to drive the bidding up and walk away with a tidy profit. You can use this assumption to your advantage. Since they are no longer as popular as they were when they first hit the market it is impossible to conceive of the fact that every Sony car DVD player listed on e-Bay is going to attract the attention of (and cause a bidding war between) multiple bidders. Take a moment to scan the virtual inventory of e-Bay. Find a few that catch your eye and whose prices are within your range, then take note of what day their bidding expires. On that day, log in and, if the price is still right, submit your own bid. You will be able to walk away from the table with the Sony car DVD player of your dreams and the kind of personal satisfaction that only finding a good deal can bring. |
