What is a Bungee Trampoline Print E-mail
Saturday, 09 June 2007
A bungee trampoline combines the fun and excitement of the trampoline with the adrenaline rush of bungee jumping. How does this work? An adjustable harness is attached to the individual’s waist, bungee ropes are then to both sides of the individual. Using an electrical power supply, the individual is shot up into the air. The bungee trampoline is great for performing gymnastics and airborne aerobics. The bungee trampoline is often used in training exercises for gymnasts. You might find a bungee trampoline at an amusement park, near a pool or beach, at a summer camp or festival. A bungee trampoline can be set up anywhere there is adequate space and access to height.

There are certain safety regulations regarding the construction and use of a bungee trampoline. This type of trampoline is generally made from excellent quality stainless steel and aluminum. Any person, over the age of five and weighing between forty-five and two hundred pounds can comfortably use a bungee trampoline. Bungee trampolining is not an activity that requires experience but for a first-timer it would be wise to have the supervision of someone knowledgeable about the activity. There are different types of bungee trampolines. There are those made for single jumpers and there are other built to be used by as many as four jumpers. A bungee trampoline can send an individual up to twenty-four feet in the air.

As with any trampoline, a bungee trampoline needs to be used with caution. Misuse of this equipment has the potential for many injuries including sprains, fractures and cuts. Misuse of a bungee trampoline can also result in serious head and neck injuries, paralysis and death. For these reasons, children should never be left unsupervised on a bungee trampoline. Anyone, for that matter, who is not familiar with a bungee trampoline should seek the help and instruction of a professional.
