Six Steps to Use a Gazebo Kit Print E-mail
Tuesday, 08 May 2007
Gazebo kits are a great way to save money on a large purchase, without sacrificing quality and design.  Most gazebo kits can be assembled in six simple steps, with beautiful results.  You don’t even have to have experience as a carpenter or be particularly handy to use a gazebo kit. First, most pre-cut sections of easy to assemble gazebo kits are packaged on heavy duty pallets for delivery.  The gazebo’s sections are banded for stability and easy unloading.

Therefore, you take out the detailed, easy to follow assembly directions and unload the pallets and remove the shipping bands. The second step in using your gazebo kit is to arrange the floor sections in the order that they are market.  You will usually find that gazebo kits have marks on the joists of the pieces, toward the center of each section, so that assembly will be simple and you won’t put any pieces in the wrong order.

Third, insert the gazebo kit’s posts into the pre-cut pockets on the floorboards.  Choose where you want your gazebo’s door, and leave a space for the opening. Next, fasten the railings on the posts, with the bottom railing first.  When all the railings have been put in place, secure the skirt board to the posts, and lay the remaining deck boards into place.  This is a time consuming step, but you will see real progress with your gazebo kit coming together.

Fifth, apply the roof panels.  Be careful if you are not used to using a ladder and dealing with roof pieces.  Finally, finish the roof by installing and fastening the shingle caps into place.   Fasten the cupola to the roof.

Last, but certainly not least, enjoy your new gazebo that you built from a gazebo kit at a great rate of savings.  Any do it yourself type can assemble a gazebo in as little as one afternoon, and feel the pride of having built the gazebo yourself!
