Many people like and prefer to have grilled steaks. Grilling steaks is not hard, however there are some techniques that you can use to help you grill your perfect steak. Here are some insider tips to properly preparing your steak to go on the grill. Many people like to just throw their steak right on the grill after they pull it out of the freezer. Some people feel that leaving it in the refrigerator over night will make the steak tender enough to throw onto the grill.
Steaks are best grilled when they are left out for several hours, gradually bringing the steak to about the outside temperature. By not thawing a steak properly, you are more then likely going to have different parts of the steak cooked unevenly. This is because parts of the steak will be more frozen then others.Prepping the steak before you throw it on the grill is very important. Just like any other type of meat, you want to trim off the excess and fatty parts of the steak. When you leave the excess parts of the steak on the steak itself, it causes those parts to deform your steak which does not help it cook evenly. Make sure that you have let your spices set in your meat for at least a few hours. The longest you want your spices to sit is no more then twenty-four hours. You want to heat the grill up to a proper temperature. Most commonly you can do this on a gas grill by bringing it to full temperature, or on a charcoal grill by having the coals reach their full heating capability. Usually when your charcoal turns white, is when it is burning at its hottest point. Covering the grill for a few minutes to get hot does not hurt as it will make the grill itself hotter. It is very important to get the grill itself as hot as possible as all steaks need high temperatures to be cooked properly. Preparing your steak is very important and will greatly impact how well your steak will actually cook on the grill itself. By following these simple preparation techniques, you will ensure that your steak will be cooked to perfection. |
