How to Perfectly Place Your Outdoor Gazebo Print E-mail
Wednesday, 02 May 2007
If you have a garden or a beautiful backyard view, an outdoor gazebo may be a great addition to your property.  In an outdoor gazebo, you’ll have a place to sit and relax, taking in your wonderful view and getting more use from your yard.  But, where do you place an outdoor gazebo on your lawn to get the most out of the structure?

Outdoor gazebos can provide shade, seating, or just visual interest, so you should assess what needs you want your outdoor gazebo to serve.  Do you want to put it in a sunny part of your yard to give you shade at midday?  Or do you have a spot that needs a visually interesting piece of architecture, and need to place your outdoor gazebo there?

First, when you are placing your outdoor gazebo, try to use the structure to create a picturesque impact in your yard.  Look at landscape paintings or in home and garden magazines for great ideas of which areas are perfect for an outdoor gazebo.  You can also emulate a neighbor or friend who has a great outdoor gazebo in their yard.

Next, you can create a low rise on your property and set the outdoor gazebo on the slope to give your gazebo a slightly better view and more impact in your yard.  It will take a position of natural importance in the garden if it is slightly higher than the flowers around it, and you can sit comfortably surveying the scene.

Another option is to place the outdoor gazebo near your yard’s best features.  Place the outdoor gazebo next to the best view of your garden, where it will catch a cool summer breeze, beside your pool, or in a secluded spot that isn’t easily viewed from the street for some privacy.  You should also site your outdoor gazebo somewhere size appropriate.  A small gazebo, for example, will look silly in an important spot in the garden, while a large gazebo might crowd a smaller space.
