Churches are always looking for fundraisers that are new and inspirational. The key to a great church fundraiser is to involve the children and the church leaders. Church fundraisers have always been a place to find family fun and these ideas encourage the practice. Designate a “Pay for Praise” day where for every time one of the assigned church leader’s says “God,” “Jesus,” and “Amen” during the service a member of the church must get up and make a donation.
The congregation should encourage participation by praising and cheering every time a church member walks up to makes a donation. An alternative method is to have the church leaders pays a quarter every time they say the designated words. It always fun to involve the kids. This fundraising idea gets the children and youth of your church to each decorate a man’s neck tie. The kids use glue to add any number of tacky items (colorful buttons, sequins, lace, novelties, silk flowers, or any number of accessories) to donated ties. Prominently display the tacky ties in the church, placing a container next to each tie. Ask people to vote for the tie they want the pastor to wear next Sunday or for some future event. One penny should equal one vote and the tacky tie which earns the most is the winner.Have the church youth put on a faith based talent show. Parents will gladly make a small donation to watch the children perform. Don’t forget to have a refreshment stand. If possible create programs to illustrate the event selling then for a small price. Parents will buy the memento of their child’s performance. Combine the event with a silent auction or a bake sale to increase fundraising. If the church has the funds to include a dinner it can be combined for a higher ticket price. Remember the most important part of church fundraising is to keep true to the churches values and keep the events family friendly. |
