Cats and Hammocks:  They’re Not Just For Humans Anymore. When referring to a hammock, the usual thought process leads one to think of sleep.  That is; thoughts of what is comfortable sleep for a human.  Well, someone loves their cat.  This person came up with the idea for a cat hammock.  This person is possibly celebrated among feline fanatics. A cat hammock - yet another way to pamper your feline friend, or friends.  Cat hammocks are commonly found as part of a ‘cat gymnasium’.  The remainder of the ‘gymnasium’ usually consists of platforms and other tube forms.  These ‘cat gymnasiums’ are designed for relaxation and for exercising your otherwise shiftless feline.

Granted that feline lovers all over the world would possibly espouse the virtues of felines.  They would tell you of the many aspects of feline friendship that may seem incomprehensible.  That is, incomprehensible to those who have never had a feline friend.  These same folks are of the train of thought that’s what is good enough for them is good enough for their cat.

Cat hammocks are constructed in a similar fashion to that of hammocks made for humans.  Hammocks are traditionally made of a sturdy cloth material that is suspended.  The manner of suspension is usually through the use of  a taught rope safely secured to a frame.  This rope would be of the type resistant to breaking and or fraying.   Together, when occupied by a body, form a sort of basket.  The basket allows the body to be held, rather than squeezed.  Though no actual survey exists, it’s believable that your feline friend would thank you for his cat hammock.

The major difference between the cat hammock and the human version of a hammock is significant.  The cat hammock requires no more agility - for a cat - than does hopping up onto your living room sofa.  The majority are suspended from four posts of a cat ‘gymnasium’, thereby eliminating any significant swaying.

Generally, cat hammocks they are designed to hold a feline weighing up to 25 lbs.  A look at your local pet store or a Google search will provide you with different variations.  Take a look into these cat hammocks:  your cat will thank you.
