It is a well known fact that toxin buildup in the body can contribute to negative health conditions. What is not so well known is precisely what can be done to correct this problem. In the Western world physicians have recommended everything from saunas, exercise and Bikram Yoga to various pills, diets and (dare we say it?) colon cleansings. These methods can be expensive, unpleasant and, in some instances, incredibly dangerous.
Citizens of the Eastern world have known the secrets to successful detoxification of the body for centuries. Consider for a moment the inner workings of a tree. Much like humans trees have an inner venous system which carries throughout the trunk and the branches the nutrients that the tree needs to survive. It would stand to logic that if there was a toxin that was harming the tree to be pulled backwards throughout the trees venous system and removed from the trunk. Such is the philosophy behind foot detoxification. The idea is that since theoretically the point of the foot is connected to all other areas of the body, if there is a harmful toxin in the body it could be drawn out through the feet. There are many methods by which this is accomplished; the most common are patches applied to the soles of the feet and foot baths in which the feet may be soaked. Consumers are warned to beware, as there are a large number of con artists currently out on the Internet claiming to have created a foot detoxification system. What these individuals are doing is attaching a low voltage AC to DC transformer to ferrous electrodes, corroding them and releasing rust into the water, making its color change and the users believe that the body is being flushed of its toxins when in fact the only thing being removed is the money from the consumer’s wallet. While the theory is sound and the benefits of success numerous, it is recommended that consumers check with their physician or a reputable reflexology and detoxification center before committing their hard earned money to this endeavor. |
