The majority of women dream of one day becoming a mother and don't often consider their ability to conceive. Taking care of your body and protecting your fertility is an important part of being a woman. The desire to be a mother is not always enough and to bare a child a woman must take notice of her health before it is to late. Many simple yet affective changes can be made to your daily routine that will help protect your fertility and make conception easier. Weight is an important fertility factor. Both being overweight and underweight may cause potential fertility issues. Maintaining your ideal body weight will make conceiving much less complicated.
Smoking can also lead a person both male or female to have issues with infertility. Both tobacco and marijuana can decrease your ability to conceive. Even if you eventually quit the damage may already be done. Excessive consumption of alcohol can damage eggs and sperm. Alcohol should always be consumed in moderation and should never be consumed while attempting to conceive. Exposure to certain chemicals may also cause damage sperm and eggs. So, be vigilant around chemicals at home and work is best when protecting your fertility.Nutrition is also important part of protecting your fertility. When dieting maintain a healthy calorie count. Excessive dieting can lead to fertility in both men and women. Taking a multivitamin is important for both men and women, the daily intake of zinc and vitamin E has also shown some promise in supporting a mans fertility. Proper nutrition is essential during pregnancy, so getting into the habit of eating right prior to conception is wise. Certain sexually transmitted diseases can contribute to infertility. Reducing your exposure to STD's by limiting your sexual partners is one of the most important factors in protecting your fertility. When you decide to become sexually intimate with a partner consider getting tested together for STD's. Condoms don't protect from all STD's so you still must be careful when being sexually active. Most importantly, if you suspect that you may have been infected with a STD seek medical treatment immediately. Keeping up with your routine physicals and Ob/Gyn exams is essential to your eventual ability to conceive. If you take yourself and lead a healthy lifestyle you may reduce or eliminate and avoidable fertility issues. Naturally, not all fertility issues are avoidable, but knowing how to avoid those issues that are can eliminate unnecessary aggravation. |
