Many people dream of becoming rich and famous by getting a film casting opportunity. Wanting to be rich and famous isn’t a good enough reason for considering a career in film acting you may find out too late that money and fame can’t save you from yourself.
* Ambition is not enough: The drive to be rich and famous is often enough to reach the top Howard Hughes and Anna Nicole Smith are proof of that. Oscar Wilde said, “There are only two tragedies in life: one is not getting what one wants, the other is getting it.” Your ambition isn’t enough to stop you from destroying yourself. Britney seems to be the latest in a long line of stars that wake up one day to discover that fame and fortune don’t guarantee joy and inner peace. * The purpose-filled life: Before you answer your next film casting call, make sure you have a purpose in life. Make sure it’s bigger than the money, bigger than the prizes, bigger than the recognition that come with success. Make sure your reason for living is big enough to save you from yourself. Anna Nicole’s wasn’t, and Britney’s might not be. Make sure your purpose is bigger than your ambition, and you’ll survive every storm that comes your way. Make sure your reason for living is just as much a part of you as the color of your skin, and you’ll be amazed by what you can accomplish. The only tragedy in death is when it is the final act in a life lived without purpose. When your film casting opportunities are grounded in a clear sense of purpose, you will make it through the failures and defeats. You will get back on your feet every time, and you will get the next job. |
